The Coal and Electricity Project of Tal II block, Pakistan, is the flagship project of “the Belt and Road” and “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor”. It is one of the important projects for the first trial of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and the first integrated project of Pakistan to use local coal for generating electricity. The project plays a very important role in the rational development and utilization of coal resources in Pakistan and in solving the shortage of power supply. The supporting open pit mine in Tar II block is the first modern large-scale open pit mine fully using Chinese technology and standards. Recently, the project’s coal mines and power stations have been handed over to the owners.

The Open-pit Coal Mine Project of Tar II Block is an important step for Dadi Engineering Development (Group) Co., Ltd. to respond to the national call, improve the strategic layout of the Group and expand its international business. Since 2013, Dadi Group has participated in the pre-preparation, bidding and implementation stages of the project. It has organized technical experts to work in Pakistan on-site for many times. Under the conditions of hot climate and imperfect infrastructure, Dadi Group has actively responded to various difficulties and challenges in its work. Under the support and guidance of the leaders at all levels of the Group Company, adhering to the concept of “building an international engineering industrialization group with technology as the backing, capital as the link and engineering as the carrier”, all the staff have worked together and made great efforts to overcome difficulties and moved forward, overcame many unfavorable factors, such as the low rock strength, thick loose sand layer and abundant underground water with strong corrosiveness, and have accomplished various design tasks and achieved excellent results. By adopting advanced design concepts and technical standards, the initial investment and production cost of the mine have been greatly reduced, which has been highly praised by both the contractor and the owner. With the joint efforts of many parties, the miracle belonging to the Thar Desert in Pakistan has been created.
      The project officially started construction on April 20, 2015. Through the joint efforts of China and Pakistan for four years, Chinese technology and Chinese standards have taken root in Pakistan. Significant progress has been made in the construction of China-Pakistan economic corridor, which is of historic significance for Pakistan’s energy development and the development of China’s engineering construction. The development of engineering construction has an important historical significance, adding a rich and colorful touch to the “China-Pakistan friendship” and helping the development of “the Belt and Road” to a broader and deeper field.
